
We have developed our own e-commerce system called Ballyhoo Commerce which essentially provides a robust and reliable platform upon which to base your e-commerce site. At the heart of the system is a comprehensive content management system allowing much of your site to be maintained and managed yourself.
The following is an overview of it’s current features:
Website & Customer Features

- Bespoke design based on your company’s brand and design brief (see our e-commerce portfolio for some examples)
- Each of your customers get their own account where they can store their delivery details and contact information
- Customers can view their complete order history and retrieve past invoices
- Customers automatically receive an e-mail to confirm their order and when orders are dispatched
- Customers can retrieve forgotten passwords without having to contact you for support
- During the customer registration process, customers can specify whether they wish to subscribe to an e-mail newsletter
- Effective product search (compares the title & description of all products) and shows the closest matches to help your customers find products quickly and efficiently
Product Catalogue

- Complete control over your product categories & products with no limit to the quantity of each
- Multiple categories can be applied to a single product (this increases their accessibility and exposure)
- Each product has two descriptions, brief and main, and both can be formatted within an intuitive editor similar to Microsoft Word
- Product images are automatically optimised to the correct size and dimensions (ideal for uploading directly from a digital camera or scanner) and any number can be added to a single product
- Products may be deemed as featured, giving them additional exposure (ideal for sale or end of line items)
- Products may be hidden (ideal for seasonal items)
- A shipping factor, usually weight, can be specified and allows flexible shipping calculations
- Each product can have any number of product variations (for instance size or colour), where each can have a different price if need be
Promotion

- Ballyhoo is fully search engine optimised as standard
- Discount codes may be created which offer a percentage discount off a customers order and are valid for a specified time period
- Ability to download product catalogue in a format compatible with the Google Base meaning even your products appear in Google search results
- Products can be deemed related to each other and will be suggested to purchase along with the main product (increases product cross-selling)
- The site even automatically generates a Sitemap in a format compatible with most search engines, maximising the chances of all of your site appearing in search engine results
Order Processing

- Ballyhoo can be integrated into any on-line payment gateway and is already integrated with:
- Paypal
- Worldpay
- Protx
- HSBC e-payments
- We can provide you with valuable advice to help choose the best gateway for your client base and budget
- An e-mail alert is sent to a specified vendor e-mail address upon receipt of an order to keep you up to date with sales
Other

- Any number of information pages can be created and maintained, for instance company profile, contact, etc.
- Ability to enable/disable VAT calculations including managing EC VAT rules
- Shipping manager allows the configuration of shipping costs to any number of shipping zones (groups of countries with the same shipping costs) even allowing you to specify a value of order above which shipping is free of charge
- There is the additional option of installing an SSL certificate, meaning all secure customer information will be encrypted when travelling between the site and the customer
- All customer passwords are encypted when stored for security purposes
