We have used test@ballyhoodemo.co.uk as an example in each step but you should substitute the email address or any other details we have supplied you with where appropriate.

Getting Started

Open Incredimail on your computer. Under the Tools menu select Email Accounts.

Mail Accounts

The Mail Accounts window will open. Select Add on the right-hand side of the window.

Account Wizard

The Account Wizard window will now open. Select Let me configure settings myself and click Next.

On the next screen select Other as your email account.

Under Connect To Your Account add your name, the email address you want to connect to and the password for your email account. Click Next.

Incredimail will cleverly look at the details you have already added and preset the incoming mail server type you require. If it does not, you need to set this as POP3.

Next add the Incoming mail server, this will be pop.yourdomainname. The Outgoing mail server will be mail.yourdomainname. Click Next.

Incredimail will then try to connect to your email account and fail. This is because there a few more setting we need to add. Click Skip.

Mail Accounts

Back in the Mail Accounts window, ensure the account you have just created is selected and click Properties on the right.

When this window opens click on the Servers tab. Check all the information in this window is correct and ensure My server requires authentication is ticked.

Now select the Advanced tab. Under Server Port Numbers change the outgoing mail number to 587 and the incoming mail number to 110. Click OK.

You will now have successfully configured your email account to operate through Incredimail. Try sending a few test emails and ask someone to email you to check everything is working as it should be.

Step One

On the iPhone menu select Settings.

Step Two

From the Settings menu select Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

Step Three

Under Mail, Contacts, Calendars select Add Account…

Step Four

Add Account will show you a variety of mail accounts supported by the iPhone. You need to select Other.

Step Five

You now need to select Add Mail Account under Mail on the Other menu.

Step Six

In this window you need to enter your basic account details; your name, email address, password and a description of the account, for example Work or Personal. Click Save.

The address you have entered will be the username requested in the following steps and the password will be the same in all instances.

Step Seven

The next page you see requires you to enter further details about your email account. A number of fields will be pre-populated with information you supplied in the previous step.

You must first ensure POP is selected instead of IMAP.

Then enter the incoming mail server details. The host name will always begin with pop followed by your domain, for example pop.ballyhoodemo.co.uk.

Scroll further down this page to enter the Outgoing Mail Server details. In this instance the host name will always begin with mail, for example mail.ballyhoodemo.co.uk.

Click Save.

Step Eight

Your iPhone will now try to connect to your mail server securely for incoming mail. If you do not have an SSL certificate installed on your website you will see the following message:

Although secure connection has failed be assured that your emails will still be secure as they are sent and received – the connection has simply not been validated by a certificate authority but is equally secure under what is known as a self-certification certificate.

To continue setting up your email account click Continue.

Your iPhone will then try to your mail server securely for outgoing mail. Again, if you do not have an SSL certificate installed on your domain the above message will appear. To ignore it click Continue.

You should now be able to successfully send and receive emails from the email account you have just set up.

If you are a victim of a spoofing attack rest assured that it is unlikely the security of your account has been compromised. Your email address has likely been selected at random to dupe unsuspecting people into opening a spam email.

However, if you are still concerned about the security of your email account, please contact us and we will investigate.

First Steps

Open Outlook 2003.

Go to Tools then select E-Mail Accounts which will open a new window.

E-Mail Accounts

Select Add New E-mail Account. Click Next.

Select POP3 as the server type. Click Next.

User Information

• Enter Your Name, i.e. your own name or your company name. This will appear as the sender name when you send an email.
• E-Mail Address is the email address we have supplied to you.

Server Information

• Enter the Incoming Mail Server address we gave you (begins pop.).
• Enter the Outgoing Mail Server address we gave you (begins mail.).

Logon Information

• Your User Name is the e-mail address you have been supplied with.
• Password is the randomly generated password we have supplied to you. You can change this password at a later date if you wish but we recommend you keep this one as it is a complicated string of letters and numbers which will stay more secure than one you may choose.
• Tick Remember Password.
• Do not tick Log On Using Secure Password Authentication.

Now click on More Settings which will open a new window.

Internet Email Settings

General

• Your account will be highlighted under Mail Account in the General tab. You can optionally change this to something more appropriate such as your company name.
• Enter you Organization name.
• Enter a Reply E-mail address. Systems receiving your emails are less likely to mark your email as spam if this is entered.

Outgoing Server

• Ensure My Outgoing Server (SMTP) Requires Authentication is ticked.

Advanced

• Change the Outgoing Server (SMTP) value to 587.
• Click OK to close the window.

E-Mail Accounts

You should have now returned to the E-Mail Accounts window.

Click Test Account Settings which will open a new window.

Test Account Settings

Each test should run automatically and be successful. If a window appears asking for a password this means you have not entered the previous settings correctly – click close and check your settings.

Click Close if testing is successful.

E-Mail Accounts

You will return to the E-Mail Accounts window. Click Next.

Click Finish.

Final Step

To send and receive any outstanding emails you can either:

Click Send/Recv in the top menu.

Go to Tools > Send and Receive > Send and Receive All.

Or Press F9 on your keyboard.

Open Outlook Express

Go to Tools then select Account.

Click on Add then select Mail from the menu. This will open the Internet Connection Wizard.

Internet Connection Wizard

Your Name

• Enter your Display Name (e.g. your own name or company name), this name will be shown when someone receives mail from you. Click Next.

Internet Email Address

• Enter the Email Address we have supplied you with. Click Next.

Email Server Names

• Select POP3 as your incoming mail server type from the drop-down menu.
• Enter the supplied incoming server address as your incoming mail server.
• Enter the supplied outgoing server address as your outgoing mail server. Click Next.

Internet Mail Logon

• Enter your email address as the Account Name.
• Beside Password enter the password you have been supplied. This can be changed at a later date although it is recommended you retain it as it is randomly generated and more likely to stay secure.
• Tick Remember Password
• Do not tick the Log on using Secure Password Authentication box.

Congratulations

• Click Finish.

Next Steps

Select the account you have just created in Internet Accounts and click on Properties.

When this window appears your account will be highlighted under Mail Account in the General tab. You can optionally change this to something more appropriate such as your company name.

User Information can also be altered here. You can add your Organisation or alter your Name (display name).

Important Step!

Click on the Servers tab at the top of the Properties window. At the bottom of the page under Outgoing Mail Server you must tick the box ‘My server requires authentication’.

Now click on the Advanced tab. Under Server Port Numbers you must change the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) value to 587.

Click OK to close the window.

You can now click Close in the Internet Accounts window.

Final Step

To send and receive any outstanding emails you can either:

Click Send/Recv in the top menu.

Go to Tools > Send and Receive > Send and Receive All.

Or press Ctrl + M on the keyboard.

7. Change the Outgoing Server (SMTP) value from 25 to 587.
8. Click OK.
9. Click Next.
10. Lastly click Finish and you have successfully changed your outgoing port setting.

1. Select Tools from the toolbar at the top of the window.
2. Click on Accounts near the bottom of the list.
3. When the Internet Accounts window opens ensure the Mail tab is selected. Select your email account supplied by Ballyhoo.
4. Now click on Properties.
5. Select the Advanced tab in the Properties window that has just opened.
6. Beside Outgoing Mail (SMTP) you will need to change the value 25 to 587.
7. Click OK and you have successfully changed your outgoing port setting.
