History
At Ballyhoo we’ve been working in the web development industry for over eight years and now consider ourselves industry experts.
In our first incarnation as Web Media Works Ltd we experienced great success designing and building high-quality websites. We were often commissioned to build e-commerce websites and soon realised that the majority of shopping cart software on the market wouldn’t suit our customers needs; they needed something intuitive and simple to use, whereas many options available were just too complicated for the average user.
So we developed the Ballyhoo Commerce system. During the last five years the software has proved to be robust, reliable and very successful. It’s intuitive features allow those less computer literate to manage their online stores with ease.
In 2008 one of the co-founders of Web Media Works left to join his family business and Ballyhoo was born; taking the company in a new e-commerce focused direction, as well as continuing to maintain our extensive customer base.
In 2009 we incorporated as a Limited company and in 2011 we became VAT registered.
Future
Ballyhoo has achieved more than we hoped it would and has enjoyed three successful years with many new and exciting projects. We have broadened our service package to include several new services, including the highly popular search engine optimisation – aiming to boost your websites organic search engine rankings and bring you more business – and we have also introduced an easy-to-use content management system we’ve called Ballyhoo Refresh.
Our e-commerce software has come a long way since the early days and is now a comprehensive e-commerce package we like to think of as the simple, cost-effective way to successfully sell online.
With future development we intend to make both Ballyhoo Commerce and Ballyhoo Refresh world-class options that make selling online and managing your own website fast and highly intuitive.
